Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 03/2024

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Catalonia in March 2024 stood at 1.3 million, compared to 1.1 million in March 2023, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 27.9%. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, United States and Germany, with 211.2, 124.3 and 121.2 thousand tourists, respectively.

On the other hand, by reason for traveling, leisure trips, trips for other reasons (health, studies, family...) and business trips have a tourist influx with 1,036.4, 167.3 and 142.7 thousand tourists, respectively.

As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar have an influx with 856.4 thousand tourists, and the accommodation in family or friend's homes with 204.7 thousand tourists.
