Statistics on Rural Tourism Accommodation Activity. Q1/2024

The number of overnight stays in rural tourism establishments in Catalonia increased by a year-over-year 16.8% in the first quarter of 2024, according to provisional data from the Rural Tourist Accommodation Occupancy Survey.

By country of origin, the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists rose by 18.6% (Catalan tourism increased by 19.7% and that proceeding from the rest of Spain by 7.5%) and foreign tourism increased by 1.4%.

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in rural tourism establishments grew by a year-over-year 6.0%.

Note that in 2024 Easter was celebrated in March, while in 2023 it took place in April.
